New Mexico is one of the few remaining non-disclosure
states. While most states make information such as sales
price public information, non-disclosure states consider
such information to be confidential and do not allow such
data to be a part of the public record. One cannot simply go
down to the county assessor’s office and request the sales
price of a property: the county assessor will not know.
This of course means that finding the value of a previous
sale can take more research than in disclosure states, and,
in turn, finding an accurate estimate of value can be more
challenging. This is why it is important to find an
experienced appraisal team that can handle all your
appraisal needs, including conventional, FHA, condominiums,
townhouses, 2-4 units, PMI removal, etc.
